Gabriel Thoumi, CFA, FRM is Director Capital Markets at Climate Advisers where he leads a team providing global financial and governance analysis that supports mitigating systemic climate risk while advising on greening capital markets. He has 17 years of experience managing and deploying frameworks to improve global capital markets sustainability through risk mitigation and return enhancement. He has expertise in portfolio management, risk mitigation, financial analysis, corporate engagement and supply chain analytics. He co-manages Chain Reaction Research - a global coalition of Aidenvironment, Climate Advisers and Profundo - that puts an economic price on deforestation risk for capital markets participants. Previously, he has had leadership roles on sustainable investing with Calvert Investment Management, Morgan Stanley, USAID, and other organizations. He is widely published and spoken at numerous global fora on financial approaches to mitigating climate change. Finally, he is an environment, energy and sustainability regional commissioner for the Washington DC metropolitan area.
