As Organic Ambassador at General Mills, Katrina Heinze represents the organic industry, advocates for the perspective of consumers and farmers and provides stewardship for the original Cascadian Farm. Katrina provides organic regulatory leadership within the company and partners with sourcing on sustainability projects. Katrina served on the USDA’s National Organic Standards Board (2007-2012) and currently serves on the board of the Organic Farming Research Foundation. Katrina has been with General Mills for 20 years with her first 17 in food safety, regulatory compliance and product quality. She has a B.S. in Chemistry from Harvey Mudd College and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. A long-time organic consumer, Katrina lives in Plymouth, MN with her husband and their two children. She enjoys gardening, cooking and spending time with family and friends.
